Paphos to be promoted as tourist destination in the Baltics
Travel agents from the Baltic states of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia have expressed great interest in Paphos, the town’s tourism board said on Tuesday.
A delegation from Paphos consisting of the head of the tourism board and hoteliers are heading to the three countries later in the month to participate in a series of presentations and workshops aimed at promoting the town as a tourism destination.
The delegation will participate in events which will be attended by travel agents in Vilnius, Lithuania on May 22, in Riga, Latvia on May 23 and in Tallinn, Estonia a day later.
More than 50 travel agents are expected to attend each event, the tourism board said, while there has already been intense interest in Paphos. The Paphos delegation will not only meet the travel agents but will also make presentations on the district’s tourism product.
The trip is part of joint efforts by Paphos businesses and organisations with the Cyprus Tourism Organisation to attract tourism year-round.
The Paphos Tourism Board said the district can be a year-round destination for these countries, especially in the winter, citing competitive packages, adequate hotel infrastructure, mild winter weather, year-round flight connections and also many available activities.
